On Thursday 23rd June 2016, the Year 10 girls Rounders Team took part in the Hull Schools Rounders Tournament at St. Mary’s College.
The girls drew with both Archbishop Sentamu and Sirius Academies, and won their game against Newland High School.
The Team confidently won the group rounds to go onto the finals where they played the home team, St. Mary’s College. Another successful win for Malet Lambert!
The Team, consisting of Ellie Bateman, Isaac Thompson, Ellie-Ann Dear, Emily Wilkinson, Briony Tennison, Bethany Griffiths, Sian Harper, Libbie Wilson and Abbie Reynolds, now go through to play the East Riding of Yorkshire, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire, representing Hull in the Humber Games in July 2016.
A special mention for Ellie-Ann Dear and Briony Tennison for their outstanding defence, on bases two and four; and for Libbie Wilson and Isaac Thompson for their fantastic deep fielding skills.
The girls worked really hard together, as a team, throughout all of their games to become so successful during this tournament.
Congratulations girls!
