During half term 36 pupils from Year 9, 10 and 11 ventured to the Spanish capital, Madrid. Pupils had been attending extra-curricular Spanish classes during the build up to the trip. Whilst in Madrid, pupils put their Spanish skills into action whilst exploring the local markets, shopping in the Gran Via and touring the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, home to Real Madrid football club. Pupils also had the opportunity to go to the famous Warner Brothers theme park and spent their last night at a famous flamenco show.
Despite the wet weather throughout the duration of their stay, a good time was had by all.
Mr Thompson, trip leader, said 'Pupils were a credit to the school throughout the trip. Unforgettable memories were made throughout the week for all involved, staff included. It is the pupils that made the trip so successful which makes me one to do it again every year.’
Two Year 11 pupils who are a credit to Malet Lambert commented on how much they enjoyed the trip.
William Ketley said, ‘This was one of the best experiences of my life. I would love to go again but it would not be the same without the teaching staff from Malet Lambert.’
Thomas Kerins said, ‘We all had such a fantastic time, without a doubt the best trip we have ever been on with school. We all got on so well and everyone loved it.’
Watch out for the 2017 trip to Spain, more details to follow this half term.
