The evening was a great success celebrating our current pupils and last year's Year 11 pupils achievements. The pupils also collected their GCSE certificates during evening.
A former pupil of the school, and Bafta award winning producer Chris Hees was our special guest for the evening. He presented some of the pupils with their awards and gave a short speech on how he had made it into film producing and the television industry. Chris went on to present some of the pupils with their awards including the Progress Leader Awards and the Year 11 Leavers' Subject Awards.
The evening consisted of some fantastic musical and dance performances including a ballet duet.
The awards also included current Pupil Subject Awards and the Wider Community Awards which were presented by our Chair of Governors Ann Barker, Head of School Patrick Sprakes and School Governor Margaret Wright.
Chris Hees gave lots of advice and encouragement to pupils during the evening. These included taking risks, being positive, loving what you do and making it happen. His main message was for the pupils to have an achievable goal and to meet it, with passion, which is what he has clearly demonstrated during his succesful career.
Thank you to all involved and a huge congratulations to all the pupils who received an award, well done!
