The ‘Let’s Get Cooking Club’ is a joint venture between the Food Technology department and the LSU. We meet alternate weeks and cook tasty, healthy meals. Pupils of all ages and abilities work together to develop social & independent living skills whilst working as a team.
Wednesday 3rd July saw the coming together of the pupils, parents and representatives of the agencies who support us in school. We grew salads in the LSU garden and used this to compliment the foods cooked on the Barbeque. Fresh salad, healthy chicken and fresh bread, was complimented by freshly baked scones, healthy strawberries and low fat cream.
Workers from the Hull Families Project, RAPP were invited along with parents, staff, governors and school visitors to prepare the foods along with pupils. 17 pupils and 9 adults helped to prepare and cook the food and everyone enjoyed the Barbeque. As the photos show – a good time was had by all.
