Year 7 Textiles students were given an extra special extended homework – to design and make their own sock people.
Students were inspired by the school’s Community Governor Julian Shann, who has recently taken up the hobby of making stuffed toys out of socks, and brought some of them in to show the class.
Their brief was to make a creature out of socks, stuff it, decorate it and bring it in for a class competition to be judged by Mr Shann.
All of the students took great pride in their creations, ranging from snails to cats, and rabbits to the unique “slender man”.
Ryan Nandra was awarded 1st place with his blue and pink sock monkey, and Reece Spamer and Ashlee Tether tied for 2nd place with a dog and a rabbit respectively.
Aleisha Evans won third place for her pom pom decorated creature and Cameron Donnelly was given a special Family Contriburtion award for working on his project with his family.
