At Malet Lambert we take our pastoral responsibility very seriously. All staff at the school are part of a caring framework and we have a dedicated pastoral team which has specific responsibility for this provision. The first line of care is the Form Tutor who registers your child daily. It is the form tutor’s responsibility to monitor daily progress, provide encouragement and advice, coordinate reports from subject teachers and generally keep a watchful eye for signs of difficulty.

Each house group has a Head of House and Deputy Head of House, whose job it is to monitor the development of the pupils in their house, sort out more serious problems and contact parents where appropriate. Any of them can be contacted at the school on 374211 or here.
The team works closely with the Attendance Officer and Educational Welfare Officer who help us monitor absence from school.

Study Support

The study support in place at the school runs through both key stages and complements the curriculum to ensure no pupil is left behind. It comes in many forms, some of which are listed below:

  • Homework clubs and revision classes
  • Visiting speakers
  • Extensive extra-curricular activities programme for lunch times, after school and evenings
  • A wide range of residential and non-residential visits
  • Visits to universities and FE colleges
  • Theatre, music and sports events and outings
  • Peripatetic music lessons
  • Mock interviews with a national company
