Our pastoral vision aims to reflect Malet Lambert’s values and ethos:

We encourage pupils to develop a curiosity about the world around them through a diverse PSHE, Tutor and Assembly curriculum exploring a wide range of topics.
In 2017, the Malet Lambert reintroduced the House System. The idea behind this is to create a strong community feeling amongst our pupils, plus a healthy sense of competition between the houses. All pupils wear a tie that corresponds to their house colours.
Throughout the year, inter-house competitions will be run by departments within the school in a range of disciplines, from baking to spelling to entrepreneurship.
Pupils will earn points from winning these competitions and at our annual Sports Day, plus as individuals within their classes for their conduct, attendance, and academic work. Each week, the total points for each house will be updated on score boards located in the Forum, until the winning house for the entire year will be announced in July.
Pastoral and Wellbeing Support
As part of our commitment to the pastoral and wellbeing support of our pupils, we have an online form for pupils and parents/carers to report any matters to us. At specific times, this can be completed from anywhere with internet access.
We call this approach “P.A.W.S. for thought”, which pupils will come to recognise through the PAWS graphic. Pupils can easily access the form through the school intranet on RM Unify.
PAWS sits alongside all of the existing ways in which pupils and parents/carers can report concerns to us.
PAWS is monitored by our pastoral staff during normal school hours.
