Notifications of Entry
Printed “Notifications of Entry” for the Summer exams will be issued to candidates by the Examinations Officer. It is absolutely crucial that candidates check their “Notifications of Entry” to ensure that:
- Their personal details are correct.
- They have been entered for all examinations that they expect to take during the Summer session.
- That they have been entered for the correct level of exam – either Foundation or Higher.
Any errors on the Notification of Entry relating to a pupil’s personal details should be notified immediately to Mrs Brown, Pupil Office; who will notify the revised details to the Awarding Bodies concerned, thus ensuring that all certificate of awards issued are annotated correctly. Any errors with regard to specific exam entries and levels of entry (Higher or Foundation) should be referred to the subject teacher in the first instance, and the subject teacher will notify the Examination Officer of any changes to be made to the entry.
GCSE Controlled Assessments
In addition to the above there are a number of GCSE subjects whose pupils will need to undertake “Controlled Assessments” in the classroom under “formal” or “less formal” conditions, as directed by the exam boards. Once again these tests are set on specific dates and times in the months prior to the main “Summer” exams and pupil attendance at these tests is mandatory, if they are to successfully complete and receive an award for the subject concerned. Dates & times will be notified to you by your subject teacher in due course.
